About New Daily Tools

New Daily Tools is an independent publication dedicated to helping professionals, freelancers, and students work smarter with the right tools and systems. We research, test, and review productivity tools so you don't have to spend hours figuring out what actually works.

Who's Behind This?

Michael

Founder & Lead Writer

Software engineer with 5+ years of experience building web applications and exploring productivity systems. After years of testing dozens of tools β€” from Notion to Obsidian, from Pomodoro to GTD β€” I decided to document what actually works and share it with others.

Our Story

New Daily Tools started in 2025 as a personal project. I was frustrated with the typical "Top 10 Best Apps" articles that are clearly sponsored or barely scratched the surface. I wanted a resource that offered genuine, in-depth reviews based on real usage β€” not press releases.

What started as a blog quickly grew to include free online tools. I noticed that many productivity concepts (like the Eisenhower Matrix or Pomodoro Technique) lacked good, free, no-signup-required web apps. So I built them. Every tool on this site is free, works in your browser, and respects your privacy β€” no accounts, no tracking, no data stored on servers.

Our Values

  • Honesty over sponsorships β€” We don't accept payment for reviews. If a tool has problems, we'll tell you.
  • Depth over quantity β€” We'd rather publish one comprehensive 2,000-word guide than five shallow listicles.
  • Privacy first β€” Our tools run entirely in your browser. Your data never leaves your device.
  • Free and accessible β€” Every tool on this site works without sign-up, without payment, on any device.

What We Cover

  • Productivity Methods β€” Deep dives into Pomodoro, GTD, time blocking, the Eisenhower Matrix, and more. Not just theory β€” step-by-step implementation guides with real examples.
  • App Reviews & Comparisons β€” Honest, hands-on comparisons of tools like Notion vs Obsidian, Todoist vs Things 3, Zapier vs Make. We use each tool for weeks before writing about it.
  • Workspace Optimization β€” Hardware, ergonomics, home office setups, and the environments that support deep work.
  • Automation & Workflows β€” Practical guides on automating repetitive tasks with Zapier, Make, Shortcuts, and scripting.
  • Free Online Tools β€” 20+ browser-based productivity tools built by us: timers, calculators, generators, editors, and more.

How We Review Products

Every product review follows the same process:

  1. Real usage β€” We use each product in our actual workflow for at least 2 weeks before writing about it.
  2. Feature comparison β€” We compare features, pricing, and limitations side-by-side with clear tables.
  3. Honest verdict β€” We recommend the best tool for specific use cases, not the one with the biggest affiliate program.
  4. Regular updates β€” We revisit articles when products release major updates or change pricing.
